Short Description: Interact with locals as you learn about the community projects in Havana
Learn about some of the most charitable and influential community projects in Havana. This excursion will allow you to absorb the culture, art, and spirit of the Cuban people. You will interact with talented children, Afro-Cuban dancers, and entrepreneurs that have made a difference in their community. Learn about Cuban culture and traditions through community projects in Havana’s neighborhoods and exchange ideas and realities of life in Cuba.
- Visit Community Projects: Muraleando, Callejon de Hamel, and Arte Corte
- Interact with the Cuban people to learn about their culture, traditions, and gain insight into their daily life.
- Lunch at local paladar
09:00 am – Meeting with Cuban guide and bus driver.
09:30 am – Visit Muraleando, an art center in Havana founded by Manuel Diaz Baldrich. The center was inspired by the children of the community. Music, dance, sculpting, painting and other fine arts are all part of the project which transforms children’s lives.
10:30 am- Depart to the suburbs in Havana
11:00 am – Visit the Callejon de Hamel, a project inspired by the Afro-Cuban Culture. Meet with project members and enjoy a live performance.
12:00 pm Depart for Old Havana to visit the community project, Arte Corte. Interact with the people in the community and learn how this project is influencing the local residents, by fostering the talent of young hair stylist and children.
1:30 pm -Lunch at the paladar
2:30 pm – Transfer to the Hotel
3:00 pm- Arrive at the hotel. End of the services
